Glacier:

• Bowman Lake is a must; long trip; many gravel roads; not for the casual day out

Barbecue:

• Rudy Mendez; Somers; limited hours; may or may not have what you want; guaranteed if you call 3 hours ahead; business card at house; (406) 890-0269;  

Skiing:

• there is also skiing at Blacktail, near Lakeside; great for new skiers, such as children
• Whitefish: said to be absolutely "dead" and thus great for skiing January and February (after the holidays)

The Dump (waste management): a must. Once.
